1st Birthday Boy!
Jason is now officially one!! Can't believe how fast the past year went by but on the other hand it seems like Jason has always been here.
Jason is such a sweet little boy and definitely loves his mama and rarely wants her to leave! He give great hugs and love taps. He is very content to play by himself. He just wanders around the basement going from toy to toy that he wants to play with. Sometimes he'll come back and bring you something and is very proud of himself but doesn't expect you to follow him back to where he was playing (so different from Dillon!!).
He's got 5 teeth now and is always smiling. He was sleeping through the night but a few weeks ago he started waking up again and wanting to nurse, sometimes twice a night! I am hoping that he was just having a growth spurt and he'll settle back into sleeping through the night. Jason will eat pretty much anything except peas and green beans and potatoes (mashed or cooked). But he of course loves french fries. He loves ice cream just like his big brother but so far isn't as picky as him (I am hoping we don't make that mistake twice.) Jason is a bottomless pit when it comes to eating. The other day he ate and entire banana and waffle for breakfast!! And so far he eats mostly with his left hand. This is what Dillon did too and is firmly a lefty now just like dad. I just might be the minority in this family in more ways than one.
Jason loves Mickey Mouse and thus is was his theme for his birthday party. It turned out to be a beautiful day and he had a great time. He loved just wanting amongst all the people and was happy as can be.
All the girls were in Jason's play pen and he wasn't sure what to make of it!
When it came to cake time he was very neat but just kept eating and eating and even picking at the crumbs once the cake was taken away.
Already has his mouth open for the first bite!
Yummy!
I had to cut a peice out of the cake so he could get past the frosting.
Loved the cake and stayed pretty clean.
There are more pictures from the party in this photo album.

O - R- E - O
After lunch today Dillon had an Oreo for dessert. I was still feeding Jason yogurt but he refused to eat anymore once he saw the Oreo. Then he started pointing at Dillon's Oreo and crying. He stopped once I gave him his own Oreo to eat! He loved it, of course.
Happy he got the Oreo.
Yummy!
That was good!
I've got to get every last crumb.
Happy he got the Oreo.

Busy Boys
The boys are having more and more fun playing together, sort of. Dillon likes to play with Jason but isn't too fond of it when Jason takes toys away from him or moves a toy that Dillon had in a specific spot. Jason mostly just likes to try and crawl over Dillon. But so far no one has gotten too hurt or annoyed...yet.
Thought this was a great picture captured at just the right moment to show how things are going!
Jason is now fully walking everywhere. He likes to take laps around the basement and loves to just wonder off by himself and play with what ever he finds.
Jason also loves his baths.
He was trying to catch the water falling out of the cup, I love when they are trying to figure everything out!
Not the best picture but it does show all 4 of Jason's teeth.
So cute!

Concentrate!
On the way home from preschool today I was asking Dillon questions about school; like I do every day. He's gotten so some days he just doesn't want to tell me about school (and I thought this wouldn't happen until the teenage years.) So today he said to me "why don't you just concentrate on driving mommy." Oh my gosh some days he just cracks me up!

Oh Dillon, Dillon, Dillon
I sent Dillon to the corner yesterday afternoon. It was quiet time (formerly known as nap time) and he kept opening his door and coming out of his room. His door has a squeak that hasn't been oiled yet and Jason tends to wake up very easily from this squeaking noise. So I had Dillon come to the basement and sit in the corner.
After a few minutes I asked him why he was in the corner, trying to drive my point home. He started to say "well my door makes this little squeak (said with hand jesters indicating how little the squeak is) and since daddy hasn't fixed it ...". I cut him off right there and told him that he can't blame other people when he's in trouble. I was surprised that he was trying to pass blame! Where does he learn this stuff? So I asked him again "do you know why you are in the corner?" and he said very matter-a-factly and very seriously "well, because you sent me here." I had to bit my lip until I got around the corner so I wouldn't laugh. I couldn't really argue with that answer! He can be so frustrating sometimes but gosh is he funny!

11 Months!
Jason is now 11 months old, can't believe he'll be a year in less than a month!! He has learned a lot of new things this past month. He can now walk for several steps at a time and walks really well just holding on to one of your fingers. He waves at you and can stand up from the ground.
He eats just about everything, except he still doesn't like peas (but who can blame him?). He still really likes sweet potatoes and bananas. Applesauce isn't horrible anymore and neither is apple juice. Jason now sleeps through the night from about 7 to 7! He takes usually 2 naps a day for at least an hour each.
Jason has his two front bottom teeth and one top front tooth. The second top tooth should come in any day. He has discovered his teeth and has been scraping them together; which I think is the worst sound in the world!
We haven't weighted him lately but I am sure he is just shy of 30 pounds! So we are happy he is almost walking as carrying him around is getting heavier and heavier!
No smile, but this was the only picture I got where Jason wasn't trying to move.
You can see his two bottom teeth in this picture.
I think he is done sitting in the chair!
He's getting so tall.
Walking!!!
Jason loves to play with Dillon.
Jason has discovered the rocking horse that Papa made for Dillon. He loves to ride it.
It actually happened...one of my kids fell asleep while they were eating!
Waving!
Jason always pulls everything off the shelves. In the play room I've pretty much given up putting the books back on the bookshelf.
When Jason is down crawling around on the floor upstairs the first thing he always goes is go straight to the hallway nightlight and pull it out. He crawls as fast as he possibly can because he knows that you are after him to stop him from pulling the light out.
