Oh Dillon, Dillon, Dillon
I sent Dillon to the corner yesterday afternoon. It was quiet time (formerly known as nap time) and he kept opening his door and coming out of his room. His door has a squeak that hasn't been oiled yet and Jason tends to wake up very easily from this squeaking noise. So I had Dillon come to the basement and sit in the corner.
After a few minutes I asked him why he was in the corner, trying to drive my point home. He started to say "well my door makes this little squeak (said with hand jesters indicating how little the squeak is) and since daddy hasn't fixed it ...". I cut him off right there and told him that he can't blame other people when he's in trouble. I was surprised that he was trying to pass blame! Where does he learn this stuff? So I asked him again "do you know why you are in the corner?" and he said very matter-a-factly and very seriously "well, because you sent me here." I had to bit my lip until I got around the corner so I wouldn't laugh. I couldn't really argue with that answer! He can be so frustrating sometimes but gosh is he funny!
