Update & Pics from the week

Update on Dillon's potty training.....it has been going so-so. One day all he wants to do is go in the potty and the next he wants nothing to do with it. He did want a treat yesterday evening (I give him a M&M when he goes in the potty) and I reminded him how he could get one. So he ran into the bathroom and went! Just got to keep pushing the candy I guess. :)

Here are some cute pictures from the week:

Dillon loves his baby brother!

On a nice evening we had a BBQ and fire over at Gram and Papas

Dillon got to walk down to the beach.

I Went Potty!!

We woke up this morning to Dillon running into our room pantless saying "I went potty!"

Since the last few times he had told us he'd gone potty he had gone in a corner or on furniture I wasn't sure what to expect. But this time he'd gone in his potty in the bathroom!!! He did it again this afternoon. Guess he is showing us who is in charge as I had planned to start the training later in the summer. Underpants here he comes!

We have been giving Dillon lots of praise for going in the potty and guess he likes to share it.....when I went to the bathroom this afternoon (because I no longer get to go alone anymore) Dillon came in and said "Yea, mommy you did it, good job."

Random Updates

Since we've gotten home from Idaho Jason has been sleeping in his room in his crib. I think he sleeps much better as most nights he falls asleep around 9 (much better than 11!) and sleeps until 5 or 6, wakes to eat and then sleeps until 9ish!! I really need to knock on some wood so I don't jinx Jason's sleeping habit!

Sleeping in his crib for the first time.

When he woke up he was completely sideways. (No, he didn't take his sleep sack off too, I started too and then decided to take a picture. Don't think Jason was too happen about it.)

Here is a lovely outfit Dillon put together.
Happy Jason!!

I got out the floor jungle for Jason a few days ago. He loved it, just like Dillon did (and I guess still does).

Loved it so much he played til he fell asleep.

Dillon had to try it out and then share it with Jason.

Dillon is so creative. He figured out he can fit perfectly in this box.

When I was getting dinner ready one evening he was playing happily so I wasn't really paying attention to him. When I went to see what he was doing this is what he had done. All the cards were picture side up and he was very carefully putting them in the spot he wanted them to go in.

Vacation

We went on our first vacation as a family of four....and we survived. :) We saw planes on trains, military planes, a bear, a deer and a rainbow.

We went to Dover, Idaho (just west of Sandpoint) for a Lovestedt family reunion. There were 33 of us; 3 infants, 3 almost 3 year olds, 3 between 5 and 6. The rest were older or adults. The young kids kept us busy keeping track of them, but they had a great time running around and playing. We stayed at a resort, Dover Bay, right on Lake Pend Oreille and took up 9 bungalows all right together.

The almost 8 hour car ride was much quieter than anticipated and we managed to fit everything in the car and roof cargo carrier that we bought. But don't be fooled there wasn't an inch to spare.

Dillon entertained himself really well with some new toys and the new DVD player we bought. We only heard from Jason when he was hungry.

We had a great time; can't wait to get together with everyone again!

Click on the picture below and it will take you to a photo album of all the pictures I took.

The Problem is.....

"The problem is...you see.....is I have too much energy." This is what Dillon, sitting calmly, told me last night when I asked him why he wouldn't eat his dinner.

He is always good for a quick and funny answer to a question even when he isn't even trying to be funny!

Driving home from school yesterday I told him that it is not nice to be a trouble maker and he then told me that I am a happy maker.

When he took all his DVDs out of their cases and we were trying to find them all while cleaning up we asked if he had watched one in particular recently (knowing that he hadn't) and without skipping a beat he told us "yes, last Thursday."

Then again yesterday he came into the kitchen after his nap and saw a new box of crackers on the counter. He got all excited and sweet and said "new crackers, oh thank you mommy for getting me new crackers.....you are the best mommy" which was followed by a hug. I don't think reading it does it justice as to just how cute he was!

Hot, Hot Hot

We have had some very hot days...90 degrees or just under the past few days. So it was time to get the pool out! Dillon of course had a wonderful time. I even moved the slide over to the pool.

Face First!
So hot I had to unzip Jason's jammies and show a little chest.
Last weekend Bob asked Dillon to help him wash chairs. Actually we had told Dillon to leave Bob alone because he was busy doing things outside. Bob started talking to Dillon and Dillon told him "I can't talk to you, you are busy". Bob then asked him to ask us if he could come over and faster than you could blink Dillon ran back into the house to ask. So cute!
Of course Dillon managed to get all wet....but he did have a little help.
After washing chairs it was lunch time and we just took his clothes off and had him eat outside....he added the helmet!
The bike always needs fixing no matter what you are wearing.

Two Months Old

Jason is now 2 months old! Sometimes it seems like it was just yesterday that he was born and other days it seems like he's been here forever.

He had his checkup this week and now weighs 15 pounds, 10 ounces and is 24.75 inches long; which puts him in the 95th percentile for both. He is very healthy. He got some shots, but did very well and just cried for a little bit and then wanted eat. He was a bit cranky the rest of the day but it was also 90 degrees so it could have been either thing or a combination of both.

Jason has started tracking us across the room and likes to "talk" to us. He is smiling more and more and all in all is really laid back. I think he'll be an early mover because he is always trying to climb us when we hold him and really likes to stand.

He is still sleeping really well at night. Still trying to figure out his sleeping pattern during the day but for the most part he always sleeps during some of the time when Dillon is sleeping.
