"I'm Working"

There is a story behind this picture....isn't there always a story for Dillon?!

My Aunt left her computer with us so Art could clean it up so it could be given away (but I think we've found another use for it). It was left on the dining room table for a day or so. One evening I was in the kitchen and Art and Dillon were in the living room watching baseball. I guess Dillon got bored and wondered off. I came into the dining room/living room after a while and saw Dillon at the table typing away on the computer. He managed to pull it towards him (it is an old very heavy laptop) open it and turn in on!!! Why was I really not surprised though, that kid can figure everything out.

So the past week or so he tells me that he "has to work and send emails". Not anything I would have ever said when I was 2!

The Past Week

There has been some nice and warm weather this past week so Dillon has been spending a lot of time outside. He is turning into a little boy and can spot even the littlest stick to pick up and play with. How do little boys just know they want to play with sticks? He has also been getting very dirty in the sand box. Guess the days of him not liking to get dirty are long gone!

Having a picnic on his new table.

Dillon has finally mastered his tricycle. He got the trike for his 2nd birthday but has always pushed himself around on it and never used the peddles. Well this past week everything clicked and he now uses the peddle and was very proud of himself.

Always helping daddy if tools are involved.

Jason is trying to roll over already!!! Not sure how well this picture shows it but Jason rolled all the way onto his side and was trying to roll over more.

He also likes to stand. His legs are very strong, makes changing diapers a challenge. He also has a very strong neck and can hold his head up very well.
Dillon loves his baby brother. He picked out a Husky outfit for Jason to wear and then went and got his Husky hat and slippers so they could match. Too cute!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter, a little bit late. Not sure how the time slipped by so quickly but it has.

Dillon really enjoyed coloring Easter eggs for the first time this year. He was determined to get the eggs out of the coloring himself using the special tool.

The harmonica (or formonica as Dillon calls it) was a big hit in Dillon's Easter basket. Jason got an Easter basket too but Dillon was just sure it was for him. Hard to explain to a 2 year old that there are now two of somethings and both are not for him.

We had Easter dinner over at Gram and Papa's and Jason got to meet both is great aunt and uncles. It was such a nice treat having everyone all together for Easter dinner.

Sometimes All I Can Do Is Shake My Head

Which is very true when living with a 2 year old! Here are a few antics courtesy of Dillon this week. I am sure one day I'll laugh about them.

Dillon was getting in trouble earlier this week and I was taking a toy away. I told him that he would not be able to play with the toy for the remainder of the day and asked if he understood. He nonchalantly told me "Yes, I'll just play with my other toys." Ugh!! That totally backfired on me. Like I've said before sometimes he is too smart for his own good.

The best was this morning....Dillon was in the basement watching his morning T.V. (T.V. upstairs wasn't working for some reason) while Art got ready for the day and I woke up. Next we heard Dillon saying that he'd peed. Art kept asking him where and Dillon kept pointing (I am listening from my bedroom wondering what is going on). Art went down stairs and Dillon then showed Art where he'd peed. For some crazy reason Dillon decided to start potty training himself and peed in the corner of newly refurbished bookcase. I guess it is better than the carpet! The bathroom wasn't very far away so why couldn't he have gone there and why every time I try to get Dillon to use the potty does he refuse? Maybe I should move his little potty onto the book case? :)

Growing Boy

Jason has regained all the weight he lost after birth. He became a bit dehydrated and jaundice a day or so after we came home from the hosptial and dropped down to 9 pounds. The doctor was great and we saw her every day until his weight came back up. His jaundice didn't get too bad so Jason didn't need light treatment. Last Friday Jason was up to 9 lbs, 2 ounces, and by Monday he was back up to 9 lbs, 10 ounces....that's 8 ounces just over the weekend!!! He has outgrown the newborn clothes and I am sure the newborn diapers are soon to be next.

He is sleeping really really well. The other night he slept almost 5 hours straight! Of course it scared me when I woke up and realized how long he'd been sleeping but he was perfectly fine. So far he falls asleep about 9:30/10:00 at night and sleeps until 2ish and then wakes up again between 4 and 5 and then is up for the day at 8ish. Much better than Dillon did and Jason doesn't mind sleeping in the bassinet or his crib. So far he'll pretty much sleep where ever he is put.

This past weekend Grandma Penny and Grandpa Bob came over to meet Jason.
Grandma and her boys...it was a beautiful 70 degree day!
Meeting Great Grandma Wolfer.
First bath. It was a bit difficult to get pictures since I was bathing Jason and Art was bathing Dillon, but I managed. Can you tell he doesn't like having his clothes off?!
Cute pose.
Just cuddling.
I managed to get dinner fixed and have both kids happy in the kitchen!

I took a picture of Art and Dillon, 2nd below, that looks almost the same as this one. Is someone tired?
Jason loves to suck on anything. He also likes to sit up.

Now a Family of Four

We are all home now and adjusting to being a family of four. Dillon (so far) really loves his little brother and likes to give him kisses. He also likes to help out with doing anything. He has been a bit difficult with regards to listening and doing what we ask him to do. Not sure how much of that is just him being a 2 1/2 year old or that his world has been turned up side down. I am going to guess some of each.

Jason is a very easy baby (knock on wood), so far. His first night home he was very fussy and gassy. He also ended up with a bit of jaundice and was somewhat dehydrated. But, he is doing much better now and didn't have to have any light treatment. He is sleeping really well in his bassinet (or where ever he is) especially at night and mom and dad are able to get up to 3 hours of sleep at a time. So much different than Dillon who didn't want to sleep unless he was held and even then didn't always want to sleep.

Jason was down to 9 lbs when we left the hospital but has already but on several more ounces. The newborn clothing fits but not when he stretches out fully. Also the newborn diapers almost don't fit, guess that comes with the territory when you have such a big little guy! Not sure if you can tell from the pictures but he has light brown hair and looks like he'll also have blue eyes. He definitely has the Lovestedt hair line.

Look at that bottom lip!
The first thing I said when I held him the first time was "he's really heavy!"
Brand new.
Meeting Papa and Gram.
Since Jason was such a big baby they wanted to make sure his sugars stayed up and Art fed him some formula. Took to the bottle with no problem.
Too cute!
Dillon meeting his baby brother.
Dillon brought his favorite toy, Sprinkles, to share with Jason.
Dillon was saying "tickle, tickle."
First family picture. Dillon was playing with my hair, which is a comfort thing for him.
Getting dressed to go home. Jason does not like his clothes being off!
Finally mom looks presentable.
First car ride.
Dillon "tickle, tickle" again.
Gram with her boys.
Hmmmm...
