Introducing Jason Tyler

We are excited to announce that Jason Tyler was born Sunday, March 29, 2009 (grandma Penny's birthday) at 10:26 pm. He weighed 9 pounds, 10 ounces, (he is heavy!) and was 21 inches long. Everyone is doing great. I was scheduled to go into the hosptial Sunday night for an induction but he wanted to make sure that things were on his terms, a sign of things to come?!

Here is a picture when he is about 12 hours old. I'll post more info and pictures later.

No Baby Yet

In case you are checking to see if pictures of a new baby are up, there are none here...yet. I am officially overdue. I had an appointment yesterday and nothing is happening. Wednesday I go in for a non-stress test, guess they monitor the baby for an hour. Then depending on how that goes we'll talk about scheduling an induction. I'll keep you updated.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post about Dillon that he can pretty much, on his own, count to ten in Spanish. He can read his numbers up to at least 12 and can count up to 15. He is full of great one liners. Yesterday while he was cleaning up his room he was almost done and stopped and said to me that he needed to rest because "he ran out of gas". Where does he hear these things?! Anyway here are some pictures of Dillon.

Have to get every last drop of ice cream out of the bowl.
Dillon got a hold of my camera....
New car seat.
Daddy built Dillon a fort. Dillon has taken a lot of toys into the fort, guess he wants to be prepared for everything!

This Weekend

Saturday we got to see our new identical twin nephews for a few hours. They are cute and tiny. They were born about 2 months early at the beginning of February and came home last week, but at 6 weeks old are doing great.....eating, sleeping, and pooping just like any baby would. Dillon was interested but just a little too interested at first. Soon as he got to go to his 4 year old cousins room and play he was in heaven. I forgot to get a picture of Dillon with the twins, oh well.

Me holding Layne.
Layne- they are hard to tell a part but Stewart had scratched himself so we could easily tell.
The proud Uncle holding Layne on the left and Stewart on the right.
Sunday was a very interesting day! Art got up about 6:30, (because Dillon woke up and was dirty, he needed to play in his room until it was light outside. The rule really works!) and it was raining. I got up with Dillon about 7:20 and it had just started snowing little tiny flakes and by 7:30 everything was white and it was really coming down. By 10:30 we had over 3 1/2 inches!!! The biggest snow flakes I have ever seen and it just piled up really fast.

Then about noon the sun came out and the temperature warmed up almost 10 degrees and most of the snow melted by the end of the day. About 2:30 we had the strongest and shortest wind storm I have ever seen. The wind and horizontal rain/hail was coming straight out the west right at our house and all the windows! I was afraid something would hit and break the windows but luckily nothing did. We have some good size branches on the roof and lots of branches on the ground but nothing major. Then as quickly as the storm started it was clear and sunny outside. What a weird weather day!!

7:30 a.m.
9:10 A.M.

I hadn't seen this before. Snow had settled on top of the bay. This is when it was melting and the currents were breaking it up. Neat to see.

Random updates

I am finally getting around to posting Dillon's 2 and a half year old picture in front of his old dresser. Like the smile? He is 38 inches and almost 40 pounds! He is already half Art's height, we are thinking he'll be a tall guy.

He sure is a smart cookie. The other day he was telling me what letters were on the page of a book and then he told me what sound the letters made. I didn't even realize he knew all that! Hopefully he won't be smarter than me too soon. :)

He likes his new room but has been missing his crib a bit lately and I did find him in it the other day. Hopefully it was a one time thing otherwise I'll be in trouble.

Dillon has some of the best comments. Sometimes when we thank him for doing something he says "my pleasure". So cute. He is very vocal about his opions and of course we hear "no" a lot. He, for some strange reason, when told he's in trouble will go to the corner and stay rather than do what we actually told him to do. Not sure I see his logic there.

Anyway here are some cute pictures over the last few weeks.

He told me he was sitting in his "sunny place" and going to read the paper.

Preschool Pictures

Dillon had school pictures taken at preschool a few weeks ago. How cute that they get school pictures all ready! Timing worked out perfectly that these are his 2 1/2 year old pictures. Dillon, of course, loved getting his picture taken.

Not sure why he looks so unsure in this picture, I think he was trying to say cheese or hold his smile.
