Swimming Again

I have finally gotten Dillon back into swimming lessons after almost a year. I don't know what I was waiting for, but at least we've finally gotten back into the pool. There isn't a swimming program for toddlers over here, which is a bummer. However, the community pool has a toddler swimming time where an instructor is available and helps the parents teach the kids. Dillon loves the pool. Even though the water was very cold....his lips were purple and his teeth were chattering by the end of the half hour...he didn't want to get out.

He blew bubbles, did some back floating, reaching for toys, made some basketball hoops and his favorite jumped in the pool. However, not sure how long I can help him jump in as each time he landed on my ever expanding stomach.

He had a really great time and we'll going back next week. Maybe them he'll go under water. He wanted to and asked to do it this past time but when it came time to actually go under water he wasn't too sure. Only a mater of time I think.

Sorry the picture is so dark, it was hard to get good pictures at the pool. Here Dillon is trying to make a baseketball hoop but almost getting me instead.

Dating Already?

You would think so with the way Dillon got ready to leave the house.

The Gargani's are up visiting from California again so Dillon finally got to see Amy and Claire. He talks about them a lot. Apparently Claire has made quite the impression on Dillon. Before we left to go to the Hoem's house Dillon had to brush his hair. I have no idea where that came from!! We had a nice visit with everyone and the kids played really well together until it was obvious it was time to leave.

His Very Own Table

We finally got Dillon his own table and chair set. Great Grandma gave Dillon birthday money which we earmarked for a table and chair set, it just took us a while to get to Ikea to purchase them.

Dillon really like putting the chairs together. The legs are hollow and did't have ends before they were put together. He was using them as telescopes and as a train whistle. So cute, I wish I'd gotten pictures. He really likes the table and enjoys having somewhere to "entertain" and have people sit with him.

All Aboard

I love when Dillon plays by himself. Not only does it allow me time to get things done but I love to see what Dillon chooses to play with. Today after he'd been playing by himself for a while I went back into the room and he was stilling quietly putting together train tracks wearing his conductor's hat. He was so cute!!

This Week

This past weekend we went over to Brian and Cheryl's house. It was a beautiful day so the boys got to play outside. Dillon had lots of fun following cousin Gage around.

After lunch the boys watched a bit of TV together on the couch. It didn't last too long because then they started running and chasing each other around the house...a glimpse of things to come maybe?!

Aunt Karlene bought Dillon some Play-Doh when she was up last. I put it the closet and accidentally forgot I put it there. So the other day I saw it and got it out. Dillon loved it. One day he sat and played with it for an hour!! Thanks Aunt Karlene!!!

Wednesday was a beautiful, although, cold day. We went down to the park and met up with friends Ryan, Lucy, and Chloe. Dillon really likes Lucy, but Lucy is a bit shy and takes a while to warm up. Dillon wanted to sit so close to her on the steps but Lucy pushed him away. She warmed up when we were leaving though, and the two of them walked hand in hand to the car. Wish I would have gotten a picture of that!

Is It Summer Again Already?

Dillon got out his stool and was playing in his room while I was doing something, probably in the kitchen. I came back into his bedroom to find him doing this:

He got into his summer drawer and really wanted to go to the pool. He was even going to put his swim diaper on to get himself ready to go. Guess I really better get him back into thoes swimming lessons!

Summer here I come!!

Baby-Boy-to-Be

In case any of you have not already heard we are going to have another boy. Due March 23rd. Everything is going well so far. The baby is quite active (oh boy, here we go again?!!), even kicking so hard that if my arm is on my belly it moves! The most recent ultrasound was good, everything is as it should be and we are on track for March 23rdish.

Dillon doesn't really have a clue yet. He likes babies so that is good. He has a book about being a big brother and likes to read it. I am sure as we get closer and we move him into his new room he'll start to understand that something is going on.

Here is a picture from the ultrasound, definitely a boy.

So Thoughtful

The other day Dillon was playing in the basement and I was in the other room doing something for a bit. When I came back into the room this is what I saw:

To my surprise Dillon had set up a picnic for the two of us complete with 2 sandwiches and 2 donuts! He is so thoughtful. The towel was perfectly spread out and was quickly fixed when it got messed up. We had a very nice picnic.

He would say "nice and neat" as he was smoothing out the towel.

Dillon Says the Funnies Things!

I don't have any pictures to update but I had to update with a few cute things Dillon said today before I forgot about them.......until, of course, I remembered them at some random time.

This morning Art took Dillon with him to get us coffee, and I got to get ready all by myself. I just love Saturday mornings! Art was ordering and Dillon piped up in the background "Mama almond latte". I always order a almond latte and I guess Dillon has been paying attention. Too bad Dillon is too young to drive, because it would really be handy to have him get coffee for me. :)

This evening I was getting dinner ready and Art put Dillon in his highchair. Dillon wanted to get Art's attention to tell him something and was saying "Dada Jacob, Dada Jacob". You guessed it, we are definitely in the two's and Dillon is starting to hear "Dillon Jacob" a bit more these days. Doesn't everyone have the second name Jacob when they are in trouble?! So cute!!

Fall Leaves

We had a nice Sunday this past weekend until it just started to down pour. We raked leaves since it had been dry for a few days and there were a lot of leaves on our deck and in our yard. Plus it got Dillon out of the house for a while. After getting most of them picked up, it started to down pour without warning. One pile was left, which Art picked up later in the day when it stopped raining.

Dillon had a great time helping rake the leaves and of course jumping and running through the piles. It is a right of passage isn't it?

Carving Pumpkins

Now that I can post pictures again I wanted to get the pictures up from when we painted/carved pumpkins. Gram came down for the evening and we managed to get one pumpkin carved and one painted. We were going to do the one I picked out but it had already started to rot, so it was just a plain pumpkin.

Dillon painted his pumpkin and did a really grate job. At one point he even used his fingers to paint! Not something he usually likes to do, but I guess he was having a lot of fun.

Dillon did not like the pumpkin insides! He was not about to touch them, but using the spoon was OK.

Houdini

As you know, lately Dillon has been taking his pants off while napping and pajamas off at night. Well we reached a new level Friday. Dillon took off all his clothes AND diaper during nap time. I went to check on him after almost an hour of him not settling down. He was naked and his bed was all wet because the diaper was off. I am glad he did his other business before nap time! I cleaned him up put on clean clothes and and changed the bed and put him back to bed. He made noise for a while longer and then finally fell a sleep. I went to check on him and he was naked again. Squished to one end of the bed because the rest was wet, again. I put a towel on the wet area and attempted to put his diaper back on. So needless to say I changed his bed twice in a very short time frame and was not too happy. Dillon, however, was very proud of himself.

So before bed last night I cut the feet off his footed pajamas and put them on backwards in hopes he couldn't reach the zipper. He kept his pajamas on all night!! And for once in several days wasn't totally soaked in the morning. So we are trying it again tonight. I wonder if we should start taking bets on how long it takes before he gets these pajamas off?!

Here is a picture of how I found him, how can you not laugh?!

First Trick-or-Treating

Dillon went on his first Trick-or-Treating last night. I am still not able to upload pictures (getting very frustrating!!!), sorry, but I at least figured I could tell you how it went.

Dillon went as a fireman. Gram bought him a fireman rain coat at Costco and he got a hat at a fair earlier in the year so I figured, perfect, he can be a fireman. He dressed up for school on Thursday and when he was all dressed he knew he was dressed like a fireman. He wanted to know where his fire truck was and I don't think he was talking about a toy truck. Silly mom, of course a fireman needs a fire truck. The kids were all cute dressed up and we managed to get a picture of a few of them. I am glad I got a picture of Dillon in the entire outfit before we left for school because on Halloween he wouldn't wear the hat.

We started out for Trick-or-Treating a bit before dark and went to our neighbor's house first. If you know Dillon you know he loves our neighbor, Bob. Bob had dinner plans but coordinated with us to wait to leave until Dillon came by (Bob's first treater in 3 years). Dillon knocked on the door and said pretty loud "Trick-or-Treat Bob". No one heard him but Art and I and that was the only time he said it, silly guy. Bob's daughter answered the door and Dillon said "you're not Bob!" It was so funny!

Next we went to the Ranger's, Cleveland's - Lucy was there and Dillon was very excited to see her -, the Makins' and then to Gram and Papa's. By then it was 7:30 and Dillon needed to get some food and go to bed he was starting to get a bit crazy.
