Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Well sort of.....It was big trucks, planes, go carts, and motorcycles. A weekend or two ago it was filled with seeing and/or sitting in a new vehicle almost every day.

While Amy, Cade, and Claire were still in town with went down to see Uncle Craig's' big truck. He drives a 55 foot semi-truck delivering beer for work. Dillon loves big trucks so I knew he would be in heaven. He got to sit inside the truck and push pretty much any button he wanted. At one point he was trying to put on his seat belt and saying "close door please", I guess he was ready to get out of there! When it was time to leave Dillon was literally shaking because he was so upset. I have a feeling we'll be visiting Craig a few more times at work! A great time was had by all.

Getting in, big step.

Can't you just see the excitement on his face!!
Uncle Craig even let him honk the horn. Dillon pulled down on the cord but didn't want to let go, so the horn blew for a bit. He thought it was great and wanted to keep honking the horn.

He is ready to leave the parking lot!

Standing in the back of a truck.

Sitting on a lot of beer! One day he will probably just love this picture!
The day after getting to see Uncle Craig's truck Art took Dillon to the McCord Air Force base air show. He had a good time, but somehow I think Art had a bit more fun since most of the pictures were of planes, but here is one that Dillon made it into.

The day after the air show we went over to the Hoem's for another get together. The kids, again, had a great time playing together. Dillon got to ride on Cade's peddle go cart and on Walt's' motorcycle. Dillon had a great time that evening!!

Cade pushed Dillon around because Dillon's legs were a little too short. But Cade helped put Dillon's feet on the peddles anyway. What a great helper.
Later in the evening Walt took Dillon and Cade for separate rides on the motorcycle. Dillon liked the horn on the cycle the best. He road for a few circles but then wanted off and back onto the go cart.

Getting Ready to Train

Potty train that is. A few weeks ago I bought Dillon a big boy potty. He is very interested in the whole process and always wants to go into the bathroom with you (will we ever be able to use the bathroom in private again!) and tells us when he needs a diaper change ("New diaper please" or "Wipe Dillon"). So I figured it was time to get a potty and start introducing it to him.

He thought it was the greatest thing ever. He wanted it out of the box immediately and started taking his pants off. Guess I was right about him wanting to start using the potty. Since we bought the potty he has gone in it once. We aren't officially potty training but when he drinks a lot or asks to sit on the potty he does. In think in another month or two we will officially begin the process.

July So Far

Can you believe we are already half way through July? The days are already seeming shorter, summer just is too short.

We started off July with a 4th of July party at moms. It was a great day and the fireworks were spectacular. Dillon was worn out at his normal bed time and slept through all the fireworks, even the really loud ones!

Hanging with Papa and Mr. Hoem.

Playing with toys with dada and Mr. Ranger. I took a picture very similar to this one last year. It's fun to see the difference.

We went to the Point Definance Zoo with Gram last Friday. It was a beautiful day and we got there right when it opened so there weren't too many people there. Dillon really liked all the animals but I think his favorite were the penguins.
On the way home from the zoo Dillon was being silly and combing his hair with his feet. Can't we all do that?!

Friday evening we had the entire Hoem family over. Amy and Andrew were up from Califonia with Cade and Claire and Brooke and Chris were over for the weekend. It was fun to hang out with everyone and have the kids play together.
Boys being boys...chasing each other. Cade had gone down to the grass and was yelling up to Dillon to get someone to bring him down so they could play, it was cute.

This picture was taken after Claire picked Dillon's nose. She is still holding her finger out and isn't sure what just happened and is not too happy and my mom is laughing at her. It was just hilarious.

Busy, Busy, Busy

The title of the blog has two meanings. We have been very busy the past month and Dillon, as always, is a very busy boy. I'll break this blog into two shorter posts. This one covers June. I'll update the blog later with what we've been doing in July.

The weather has been very nice the past few weeks so Dillon has been outside playing with some new toys. He got a water table (thanks Gram!) and a swimming pool (thanks Grandma Penny!). I don't know who likes the swimming pool more on hot days, Dillon or the adults who cool their feet off!

We did the Race for the Cure again this year. We took an early ferry over, walked, ate, and drove home. Dillon was great the whole time. He stayed awake until we were 1 minute from home. Doesn't it always seem to happen that way?! On the ferry Dillon found an arcade game to play with. It wasn't even plugged in, but that didn't matter.

We've had some friends and family over the past few weeks. Our friends, Chrissy and Tim, who we met in our birthing class, have a little girl, Madison, who is only a few days younger than Dillon. Chrissy and Madison came over for an afternoon, both kids had a great time. Dillon did really well with someone else playing with his toys for the first time. When it was time to read stories they both had to sit on Chrissy lap.
We had some of Art's family from Minnesota over on a beautiful day. All the second cousins played great together. Dillon and Lizzy are almost the same age, almost 2. Gage is almost 4 and Nicholas is 5. We all had a great time.

Here are some fun picture of Dillon:

Looking at planes at the Bremerton Airport.

Eating an Oreo for the first time; which in case you didn't know if my absolute favorite cookie. Without ever having seen an Oreo before or having seen someone eat an Oreo he immediately twisted the Oreo apart and ate the cream center. Then he at the cookie. He has had a few more Oreos since and has always eaten them the same way. I guess everyone really does have their own way to eat an Oreo.

Having fun eating outside in the summer.
