Cousin Zach's Birthday Party

We went over to cousin Zach's house for his 8th birthday. It was a pretty nice day so the kids got to play in the yard. Dillon loves playing with his cousins, so much to learn from them! Dillon really liked the swing and sandbox. He wasn't too sure about getting dirty in the sandbox but after awhile he decided that it was OK to get sand on his hands.

Zach and daddy pushing Dillon. Notice how Dillon is holding on with both hands!

Zach and Dillon testing out the sand box.
Dillon's worried about the sand on his sock and shoe. They both eventually came off.
All the cousins: Dillon, Gage, Kiera, and Zach.

It finally happened....

I thought we'd have 6 more months before it happened. I also thought it was be less dramatic. I was wrong....... Dillon fell out of his crib the other day, well it probably started as he was climbing but quickly turned into a fall.

He was put in his crib for some quiet time after getting into a bit of trouble. He'd never really tried to climb out before so when we needed to get something done quickly or he just needed to cool down we put him in his crib. Well that has abruptly stopped. He was very mad at me for putting him in his crib and I guess he wanted to get out. When I heard the loud thump (about 15 seconds after I left his room) I ran back, quickly followed by Art and my parents who were over for dinner, to see what I knew had happened. He must have hit his head at some point because there was a nice little goose egg. It obviously hurt a lot because he was really crying and he has a very high pain tolerance. It didn't last too long because after a few minutes Uncle Craig came to see what happened and Dillon was back to being happy and running around. Wow how quickly they go from one thing to the next! The goose egg was pretty much gone by the next day and he seems to have forgotten about it. However, the next time I put him in his crib to pick up his room he stayed toward the back of the crib. Smart boy.

So now for all naps and sleeping he has to be in his sleep sack which won't allow him to climb on anything. Sometimes I think that boy is too smart for his own good!!!

Tulip Festival

I have been wanting to go to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival for several years now. Well this year we finally made it. We thought with all our crazy weather lately we'd just chance it and go ahead and go up today. We figured it would be cloudy and rainy, but it was beautiful. Sunny and not a cloud in sight. It was a bit chilly and breezy when we got there but by the time we left it was almost 60 degrees!

Dillon was a trooper for the car ride and like running around and touching (or grabbing if we let him) the flowers. He also discovered he liked mud puddles, guess I should get used to it since he seems to be all boy!

He discovered his shaddow.

Posing for the camera.

Gently touching the flowers. For the picture anyway. :)

It was such a beautiful day!

Playing in the mud.

All worn out. Don't you wish you could fall alseep anywhere?!

Visit with Great Uncle Ray and Great Aunt Karlene

My aunt and uncle from California/Arizona came up for a short visit. Now that we live close to mom and dad we got to see them a lot while they were in town. They came over for dinner one evening and we went over to mom and dads the next. It was great to seem them again so soon and show them our new home.

Uncle Ray was fixing something in the doorway and Dillon wanted to make sure he caught everything Uncle Ray did. Too cute!
Papa is right outside the door bbqing dinner. Dillon really wanted to go out with him but settled for taking his chair to the door to watch.
Uncle Craig teaching Dillon bad habits. But who can blame him when eating from the beater is so good!
Aunt Karlene and Dillon playing piano. Dillon really likes the piano at Gram and Papas, he always wants to get up on the bench and play. Who knows maybe one day he'll take lessons.

Snow in April?

Yep, in case you haven't heard we've had some weird weather around here lately. This past weekend it barely reached 40 degrees, the weekend before it was almost 80 degrees!! Dillon was very excited (as was I). We did a happy snow dance when it started to fall, it was so cute. Then he really wanted to go out side and try to catch the snow flakes/pellets.

Here is some video of Dillon catching snow. My newish camera has a really good video capture setting, just don't use it much. So I've tried it out and now I'm trying out positng the video.

Nice weather...short lived

We had some wonderful weather this past Saturday; it got up to 78 degrees! However, the next day we were quickly reminded that summer is still several months away. But for that day it reminded us why we moved.....the late evening sun in the summer and beautiful sunsets. Yes, we actually finally got to see a sunset, for one night anyway, until the clouds came back.

At our condo in Bellevue we always had lots of wildlife around (owls, rabbits, deer, coyote, etc.). Well we've got wildlife in Bremerton too. The other morning I heard Dillon laughing in his toy room while I was in another room. I went to see what he was laughing at and Millie was swishing her tail back and fourth while he was trying to grab it. I couldn't figure out why Millie wasn't trying to get away. She was looking at a red fox about 15 feet away!!! Art managed to get a picture as it was running off.

Dillon got to enjoy the nice weather too. He learned to blow bubbles and had fun riding his truck around. He also go to hang out with our neighbor, Bob, who Dillon just loves. He is always asking for Bob and Goose (his cat). It's pretty cute.

Here are some other random pictures over the past few weeks.

Balancing a plate on his head, so talented!

Giving his stuffed dog a kiss....we need to get him to start closing his mouth! :)
Papa came over and entertained Dillon while dinner was being made. Guess it was easier to play with him in a confined area.

All clean....and cute!

All clean and naked!

Busy Boy!

Dillon is a busy boy. In the last two weeks he has learned how to use a zipper, (note picture below of taking the pjs off), learned about 3/4 of the abc's, and learned to use the spoon really well (but still a little messy). We have found a preschool close to us so we'll be starting that next Friday. I think he has really missed playing with kids his own age and with different toys.

Helping mommy weed the yard.
Enjoying a book in his new chair.
Having fun in the kitchen. "Playing" the pan lids and "baking".
Funny guy. He found my rain boots and one of his old too small hats.
