Aloha!

We just spent the last week in Hawaii!! We went to Maui with Art's family for a week. The weather was beautiful and a good time was had by all. Vacationing with an 18 month old changes your whole idea of what a vacation is!!

Dillon did fairly well on the 6 hour flight there and back. He slept for almost half of each flight. Since we were traveling with so many family members we were able to pass him around a bit.

While we were at the resort Dillon had lots of energy any time he wasn't in his car seat. Luckily there was a long covered breezeway that he could run up and down until he could run no more. There were also all his cousins around to keep him entertained as well as anyone else who he could get attention from; strangers included. By the end of the trip all the wait staff in the restaurant knew his name and loved stopping by to say hi to him.

Hope you enjoy a few pictures from the trip:

Of course Dillon had to have a Hawaiian outfit. He looked so cute!

First night, taking a walk on the beach.

Dillon and daddy playing in the kid pool. Dillon wasn't too sure of the kid pool at first, but by the end of the trip he thought it was great.

After the kid pool daddy took Dillon into the big pool to float around. We've got our little toe head all protected from the sun!

Most days Dillon was wiped out by the end of the day.
One day we took a drive up north of Napili and went on a hike. Grandma Penny, Grandpa Bob and cousin Gage also came along. It was a pretty good hike and we were all really impressed that Gage did the whole thing by himself. We were trying to see a blow hole that Art and I had seen last time we were in Maui, but it wasn't really blowing this time, at least the scenery is beautiful.

We hiked all the way to upper part in the picture and along the way we stopped for a rest in the shade.
Daddy took Dillon in the ocean; which really scared Dillon. After that he didn't want anything to do with the ocean or sand. Later in the week we played in the sand and let the ocean come to us, it was much better that way.

One day all the guys went golfing so the girls took the kids to the aquarium. We tried to get a picture of all the cousins sitting nicely....it didn't work out so well. But everyone did have a great time seeing all the fish and sharks.
This is breeding season for humpback whales in the waters off Maui. Anytime you looked out at the ocean you could see whales blowing or breaching. Some of the family went on a whale watching outing and said it was just amazing. Art got a picture of a whale just 50 yards away!

Can't go to Hawaii and not take a picture of the sunset. One evening I even saw the green flash!

Bad Hair Day

Do you ever have a really bad hair day? If so then these pictures of Dillon will make any bad hair day seem not so bad.

Pie Guy

We had pie for desert for Great Grandma Wolfer's 91st birthday......guess who loved it!!

Pictures of the New House

I have finally gotten around to posting pictures of our new house. Sorry it took so long, moving is way too time consuming. If you are thinking of moving anytime soon and want to be talked out of it give me a call! :) But, I am very happy that we did move and are starting to get settled in.

The entryway.
The front of the house from the road.

The back of the house.

The view.

The living room right before sunset.

Kitchen...still trying to figure out where everything goes.

Hallway to bedrooms. The mater bedroom is straight down the hall. There is a bathroom on the right and a large closet. On the left are two bedrooms, the second door is Dillon's room.
Dillon's room.

Stairway to basement. There is an opening on each side of the stairway near the bottom so you can see through to both the toy room and family room. It really opens the rooms up.

Toy room. The door at the end of the room is the door to the den; which is still a mess!

Family room. The room behind the baby gate is the laundry room. Behind where the stairway comes down (right side out of the picture) is a bathoom. So Dillon can run around the stairway for hours and hours!

Dillon Update

With the move and infrequent postings I figured it was about time for an update on all things Dillon.

He is a busy body. He does not sit still much, unless he is in the bath (however, that is changing a bit), holding the remote control, or sleeping! He can climb up onto everything now and has started throwing things (not happy about that! But he does have a good arm.....should we encourage it and maybe he'll play for the Mariners one day?!) Where does he get all of this energy?! And why can't he share it with us? Dillon is still a very happy little boy, although he is now showing his frustration when things do not go his way....glimpse of the terrible twos? He is very inquisitive and "asks" the names of everything. He is talking more now and knows several animal sounds. He recently learned to say 'clock' and is working on 'banana' and 'blueberries'. Even though he isn't talking in full sentences he sure does understand them. It is really amazing what all little kids know well before they can really communicate. We think Dillon may be very easy to train too; when he hears the timer go off on the oven (even if he is not in the kitchen) he blows; as he knows something is always hot after the timer goes off. Our own Pavlov’s dog.

Dillon has adjusted well to the new house and likes to go outside. He frequently picks up his shoes and coat and goes to the door. Even though it is very cold out ("brrr" as he says with all the recent wind) he still wants to go outside and look around.

Here are some pictures from the last month.

What a difference a few days make!
"Are toys supposed to be in here?"
"Helping" fill boxes.

Loves reading, even if it is a magazine or the ads with Daddy.

What a Crazy Week!

We well are moved in....sort of....and we are moved out....sort of. We have all of our boxes in the new house and the essential boxes are unpacked, there are many that aren't unpacked and it may be a while. We have been going back and forth between Bremerton and Bellevue a lot in the past week. We are trying to finish up all the projects that weren't quite finished so we can put the condo on the market. We hope to have everything finished up by next weekend.

We are loving our new view, especially with all the snowy weather we've been having.
Dillon's new huge toy room. We thought he had a lot of toys, but when you put them all in a large room there doesn't seem to be as many. But for a one year old he is a pretty spoiled little guy!

Dillon has been a big help keeping our new house clean...

Millie has adapted well to our new house. Dillon is learning to pet Millie "gently", he is doing a very good job. Millie has been so patient with Dillon even when he pulls her fur; which means he likes her.
