Aloha!
We just spent the last week in Hawaii!! We went to Maui with Art's family for a week. The weather was beautiful and a good time was had by all. Vacationing with an 18 month old changes your whole idea of what a vacation is!!
Dillon did fairly well on the 6 hour flight there and back. He slept for almost half of each flight. Since we were traveling with so many family members we were able to pass him around a bit.
While we were at the resort Dillon had lots of energy any time he wasn't in his car seat. Luckily there was a long covered breezeway that he could run up and down until he could run no more. There were also all his cousins around to keep him entertained as well as anyone else who he could get attention from; strangers included. By the end of the trip all the wait staff in the restaurant knew his name and loved stopping by to say hi to him.
Hope you enjoy a few pictures from the trip:
Of course Dillon had to have a Hawaiian outfit. He looked so cute!

First night, taking a walk on the beach.

Dillon and daddy playing in the kid pool. Dillon wasn't too sure of the kid pool at first, but by the end of the trip he thought it was great.
After the kid pool daddy took Dillon into the big pool to float around. We've got our little toe head all protected from the sun!

Most days Dillon was wiped out by the end of the day.
One day we took a drive up north of Napili and went on a hike. Grandma Penny, Grandpa Bob and cousin Gage also came along. It was a pretty good hike and we were all really impressed that Gage did the whole thing by himself. We were trying to see a blow hole that Art and I had seen last time we were in Maui, but it wasn't really blowing this time, at least the scenery is beautiful.

We hiked all the way to upper part in the picture and along the way we stopped for a rest in the shade.

Daddy took Dillon in the ocean; which really scared Dillon. After that he didn't want anything to do with the ocean or sand. Later in the week we played in the sand and let the ocean come to us, it was much better that way.

One day all the guys went golfing so the girls took the kids to the aquarium. We tried to get a picture of all the cousins sitting nicely....it didn't work out so well. But everyone did have a great time seeing all the fish and sharks.

This is breeding season for humpback whales in the waters off Maui. Anytime you looked out at the ocean you could see whales blowing or breaching. Some of the family went on a whale watching outing and said it was just amazing. Art got a picture of a whale just 50 yards away!

Can't go to Hawaii and not take a picture of the sunset. One evening I even saw the green flash!
