Happy First Birthday Dillon!!!!

Wow, can you believe it, Dillon turned one year old last Saturday! The past year went by so quickly and everyone has changed so much, no one more than Dillon. Its been so much fun to watch him grow and explore and learn new things.

He wasn't too excited to sit for his 12 month/one year photo.

We had a party for Dillon on his actual birthday; it happened to fall on a Saturday. The party was inside at our associations club house, as you can never tell what weather will be like around here, even in August. At least the weather was good enough that cousins Kiera and Zach were able to use the pool.

We had great time at the party. Thank you to everyone for the presents and for coming, especially to those who made the trip over here.

Here are some pictures from the party:

Look at all your presents!!! Almost can't see Dillon among them.

Dillon loves books or anything that looks like a book. He got a lot of books so he is very happy.

Dillon's friend Madison was helping open presents. I am sure Dillon will be doing the same at her first birthday party in a few days.

Birthday boy ready for some cake!

Mommy and daddy helped blow out the candles.

Dillon wasn't sure what to do with the birthday cake. Once we gave him a taste of the frosting he wanted more but he didn't know what he should do with this big thing in front of him. I guess that would be expected if you've never had any cake before. After we cut into the cake and mushed his hand into it he started to have more fun, but he stayed a lot cleaner than we expected him to.

First Camping Trip

For those of you who don't know, every summer for the past 21 years Joelle's family and 4 other families that she grew up with have gone camping at the end of August. It was our last trip before school started. Well, now all the kids have grown up and moved on, but the parents still go (to the exact same spots at the camp ground no less). Any kids that are around and able to take some time off of work go and visit. Last year Dillon interrupted the camping trip a bit, but this year we are able to go.

Dillon's trying out the tent.

Dillon loved Walt's hat. Check out the new smile. So cute.
Having a snack with Daddy.

Hanging out. As you can tell by the jackets, it was a bit chilly this day.

Sharing a toy with Lucy.
I was a little unsure how camping would go for Dillon. Since all he wants to do is get on the ground and crawl.......but Virginia solved that problem and taught Dillon how to walk!!!! At first he only walked on his very tippy toes, but then he figured it out and walked flat footed. He even let go with one had a few times. Since camping he took his first step without help (surprising everyone, including himself). He has taken several more the past few days.

It's been a while

It has been a while since a new post was added. The computer has been in Art's repair shop and I've just been busy with stuff. We've had lots of things to do on the weekends; also Dillon and mom spent a few days at Gram and Grandpa Berry's.

Here are some recent pictures:

Watching bubbles at the park.

Enjoying the stuffed toy "nest" at the kids museum

Sharing a leaf.

Rocking in the chair that was mommy's and before that Grams.

Just a cute picture.

Enjoying time with Gram and Grandpa.

Look what I found!!

Dillon is into exploring everything. There is a bathroom just down the hall from his room. He crawls in there when mommy is getting ready for the day but otherwise he usually stays out. Well, not anymore now that he has discovered the toilet paper roll!

It's a good thing that there wasn't much left on the roll.........

Curls

Dillon has the cutest curls on the back of his head, just wanted to share.
