10 Months Old

Wow, time has flown by. Dillon turned 10 months old yesterday. He is keeping very busy crawling, pulling himself up, and cruising.....which keeps mom and dad very busy chasing after him. He loves to look at his books and turn the pages. Today I was watching him when he didn't know it and after being quiet for a while he found his book, began flipping pages and started talking like he was reading the book aloud. It was so cute. He also loves to dance and whenever music is played on T.V. or one of his toys he stops to dance. It's a dance that is hard to describe but he looks a bit like Stevie Wonder.

He is a very good eater and likes to pick food up himself. Currently he loves blueberries, we thought he had a sweet tooth but now we aren't sure as the blueberries are a bit tart.

Today he started clapping his hands together and went to his book when told to "get your book". Can't believe how many new things he does each day. He seems to go in spurts of displaying new talents. It could be weeks with nothing new and then bam within a few days it's a bunch of new things.

Thanks for the outfit Great Aunt Bonnie.....if fits great.

Enjoying the swing at the park. We meet at different parks on Mondays with some other moms and babies from our preschool class. It's always fun to get the babies together again and see what new things they have learned.

Love looking at my books!

Grandpa Berry built a new entertainment cabinet for the basement so we emptied and moved the old one to the side. Dillon decided to make his first go of climbing into something and was successful.

Take Me to the Ball Game!

Dillon went to his first Mariner's game this past Sunday. It was a fun day and Dillon did a great job. Given it was an afternoon game right in the middle of his nap we weren't sure how things would go, but Dillon lasted 6 and a half innings. He did fall asleep on the way home, so he was very tired!! He loves music and like "dancing" to all the songs that were played at the game. He also got to see Ken Griffey, Jr. play! He was back in town playing for the Cincinnati Reds, he hasn't been back since he left the Mariner's 8 years ago. Dillon also entertained the row behind us. It was a group of old men and for some reason Dillon couldn't stop looking and laughing at them......don't think they were even being funny. Dillon is a silly guy.

Father's Day

We had a fairly low key Father's Day. Mainly hung around the house. Joelle has been mentioning to Art that we need to get a play pen for Dillon. He is moving all the time and some times he needs a safe place to move about on his own (so we can get something done). Anyway, Art saw the light after a few days chasing Dillon around and decided that we did in fact need something. So we went and bought an expandable play pen on Sunday. It's great and Dillon likes playing in it.....if he thinks that no one else is around to play with.

Keeping Busy

Dillon had his first booboo from crawling. He missed a basket and did a face plant into it. He was a trooper though and was laughing a few moments later.

Last week Dillon and mom spent the week at Gram and Grandpa Berry's. Dillon was very busy exploring the new space and keeping Gram and Grandpa on their toes.....and wondering how they ever had baby proofed the same room so many years ago.
Dillon also had fun chasing the cats. At one point Scooter was outside the sliding glass door waiting to come in. Dillon noticed and raced over to the door. The two pawed each other through the door. The pictures don't do it justice....it was very funny and probably the best way for the two to play together!

This past Saturday Art, Joelle, Gram and Dillon walked in the Race for the Cure (5k). We hoped that Dillon would be happy in his stroller most of the way, it turned out that he was most happy being held. He is a heavy guy!! But, as always, he had lots of fun!

There were lots of people who did the walk. It fill up the lower and upper sections of the viaduct!

Big Guy!

Dillon had his 9 month doctor appointment last week. He now weighs 23 pounds, 5 ounces (fell to the 75th percentile) and is 31.5 inches long (95th percentile). He is a very healthy guy and everything is going well. He is off cruising; now that he has mastered crawling and standing up. He is usually pretty happy with himself when he pulls himself up on something, he is very funny. He is also standing and waiting for us to get him out of bed in the morning.

With the hot days last weekend Dillon was getting a bit cranky. So we took off his clothes and he was much happier!!

During the hot weekend we went to the birthday party for a friends child. Dillon got to ride in a swing for the first time....think he likes it! He made sure that he was hanging on, just in case.

Last week Dillon had his last preschool class for the summer. Here is a group picture with all the happy babies. We'll start up class again in the fall with a new group of kids, by then he'll be into everything, so it should be very interesting!

Who's the Boss?!

Dillon had a very busy week.....and therefore so did mom and dad!

Friday night he unzipped his sleep sack in the middle of the night.

Monday morning he woke up as usual around 6 AM and made noise and played for a while. He then got very quiet so mom and dad thought he had just gone back to sleep. A little after 7 AM there was a loud crash coming from Dillon's room. Art went to investigate..... Dillon had managed to reach through the bars on his crib to get the Kleenex box on the table next to his bed. He pulled out about half the box and was shredding it in his crib and onto the floor. When he had gone back for more Kleenex the box fell on the floor making the loud noise.

Tuesday morning he woke up and played for a while before mom came in to get him. He got awfully quiet again so mom went in and found Dillon had grabbed the book from the table and was sitting in his crib reading it. Guess its never too early to start reading in bed!

Friday Dillon had a really big day. He managed to grab the cord for his baby monitor from his crib, he started to crawl and stood up in his bed!

Obviously he is doing a better job of baby proofing his room than his mom and dad did. He's letting us know who's the boss and will be for quite some time!

Joelle gave Dillon a box of toys to empty. He did a good job and even folded up the box when he was done. So helpful...will he always be this helpful?

Enjoying the sun......
