Oh Dillon, Dillon, Dillon

I sent Dillon to the corner yesterday afternoon. It was quiet time (formerly known as nap time) and he kept opening his door and coming out of his room. His door has a squeak that hasn't been oiled yet and Jason tends to wake up very easily from this squeaking noise. So I had Dillon come to the basement and sit in the corner.

After a few minutes I asked him why he was in the corner, trying to drive my point home. He started to say "well my door makes this little squeak (said with hand jesters indicating how little the squeak is) and since daddy hasn't fixed it ...". I cut him off right there and told him that he can't blame other people when he's in trouble. I was surprised that he was trying to pass blame! Where does he learn this stuff? So I asked him again "do you know why you are in the corner?" and he said very matter-a-factly and very seriously "well, because you sent me here." I had to bit my lip until I got around the corner so I wouldn't laugh. I couldn't really argue with that answer! He can be so frustrating sometimes but gosh is he funny!

Walking Video

I was able to get a little bit of video of Jason walking. You can also see him hiding from me. He loves this tent and crawls in and out of it all day long, usually as a game with Dillon.

11 Months!

Jason is now 11 months old, can't believe he'll be a year in less than a month!! He has learned a lot of new things this past month. He can now walk for several steps at a time and walks really well just holding on to one of your fingers. He waves at you and can stand up from the ground.

He eats just about everything, except he still doesn't like peas (but who can blame him?). He still really likes sweet potatoes and bananas. Applesauce isn't horrible anymore and neither is apple juice. Jason now sleeps through the night from about 7 to 7! He takes usually 2 naps a day for at least an hour each.

Jason has his two front bottom teeth and one top front tooth. The second top tooth should come in any day. He has discovered his teeth and has been scraping them together; which I think is the worst sound in the world!

We haven't weighted him lately but I am sure he is just shy of 30 pounds! So we are happy he is almost walking as carrying him around is getting heavier and heavier!

No smile, but this was the only picture I got where Jason wasn't trying to move.
You can see his two bottom teeth in this picture.
I think he is done sitting in the chair!
He's getting so tall.
Walking!!!
Jason loves to play with Dillon.
Jason has discovered the rocking horse that Papa made for Dillon. He loves to ride it.
It actually happened...one of my kids fell asleep while they were eating!
Waving!
Jason always pulls everything off the shelves. In the play room I've pretty much given up putting the books back on the bookshelf.
When Jason is down crawling around on the floor upstairs the first thing he always goes is go straight to the hallway nightlight and pull it out. He crawls as fast as he possibly can because he knows that you are after him to stop him from pulling the light out.

Got A Yard!

We almost have a yard the boys can play in!!! The weather has been warm, sunny and dry so it was perfect to finish up the yard. Friday and Saturday Art and his friend EJ (Thank you, Thank you, Thank you EJ!) pretty much finished the yard and it is ready for grass!

Dillon had a blast with the piles of dirt and was covered head to toe in dirt by the end of the day - I should have taken a picture of the tub after his bath! By the end of the day he was calling him self 'dirt boy'!
We got several loads of dirt of the two days, here is the first one arriving.
EJ giving Dillon a ride on the Bobcat.
EJ and Art (he's back by the house moving more blocks) working hard!
We finally have parking again!
All finished!!!

Pictures of the Week

Not much has been going on lately but here are a few cute pictures I've taken lately.

Dillon is always such a good dresser, not sure what was going on with the pants this day.
Dillon was making lots of splashing sounds and was very busy in the bath tub, I peaked around the corner (Hard to be in two places at once these days!) and this is what I saw. Dillon had made a huge mound of bubbles!
Jason loves his big brother and always wants to be right by him. Which is make for more and more bumped heads these days! Oh, I can just see the wrestling that will happen!!
Everyone has to play with the door stopper at some point! Well Jason discovered it at Gram and Papa's house. I think I'll be chasing him away from that and the cat food! How do they always know the wrong thing to go for?

Getting to be such a big boy!

Dillon is becoming such a little boy now and learning so many new things. He is wanting to learn how to spell and write. He knows how to spell and write his name. He likes to ask what a word starts with so I always make the sound of the letter so he can tell me what letter the word starts with. The other day he spelled his name and then asked how to spell mommy. I said "what does mommy start with?" made the M sound and he said "M" and then he spelled it "M-I-L-L-O-N". His mind is always going! He's so cute!

Here is a copy of when he wrote his name sort of legibly for the first time. If you look closely you can make out all the letters.

Walking!

Jason took his first steps today without holding on to anything!!! Of course I wasn't able to get it on camera but he was very proud of himself!
