Tulip Festival

We've been meaning to get up to the Tulip Festival all month and finally had a dry day that we had free so we went. It was a long day with two little kids (feeding everyone and making sure everyone got their potty stops in) but it was fun.

Dillon loved that he got to ride the ferry and Jason had fun too. We sat in the upstairs galley on the ferry and had the room to ourselves so everyone was free to roam as they wanted. Perfect for our "I only want to walk now" Jason.

Of course was had to have a snack, I swear the kids ate practically the entire way there!

The weather was great, it could have been just a tiny bit warmer, but it was dry and partly sunny. There were a few mud puddles that Dillon could play in but still dry enough for Jason to walk. Not many of the fields were in bloom but we found two right next to each other that were. And really that was about all we really had attention spans for.

Both boys thought the flowers were interesting and had a good time. We had lunch at Dairy Queen and Dillon was able to get some ice cream (his favorite thing in the world). He had a chocolate ice cream cone and oh how I wish I had pictures of the chocolate ice cream around his mouth. He didn't miss a drop of it! Both toys fell asleep on the way home and I might have taken an extra long blink along the way too.

Super Dillon!

"Please I really want to touch them!"

I'll say it once again, it is next to impossible to get a picture with both boys looking at the camera and smiling.

But this is pretty close.

Always picking stuff up from the ground....don't want to miss anything that could be interesting!

Dillon took a few pictures and did a pretty good job, minus the finger.

The flowers were so vibrant.

Where's Dillon?!

"Here I am!"

Walking back to the car (I love this picture).

First Haircut

I so did not want to get Jason's hair cut but it was hanging in his eyes so I figured it was time. I just hate when the get their first hair cut because it instantly makes them look like little boys and not baby boys anymore.

Jason HATED getting his hair cut and was just all about the hair dresser could do to get the front cut. Oh how Dillon and Jason are opposites! Dillon has always liked getting him hair cut but absolutely hates the dentist. Where as when I took Jason to the dentist for the first time the other time he thought it was great.

Before
After - and still not happy.
But, playing with the toys made everything alright!

Everyone Smile

I took Jason in for his one year pictures and I wanted some with Dillon too. So we just decided why not get family pictures taken. They turned out great and everyone smiled right at the camera!

This is almost a daily pose in our house. They (mostly Jason) are always knocking someone over and laughing.

These brothers love each other!

So excited to be one!

Jason even got to enjoy a cupcake for the pictures and he made sure to eat every last crumb.

Happy Easter, a bit late.

The Easter Bunny did indeed come to our house, I'm just a bit late getting pictures up.

Dillon and I dyed Easter eggs a few days before Easter. Jason watched and snacked. Dillon had a fun time and loved checking on the progress of the coloring.

Patiently waiting (sort of).
Jason eating...like always!
Dropping the egg in.
Checking the coloring.
Finished eggs. The flash went off on the camera so they are a little washed out but you can still tell they are pretty.
Easter morning Dillon couldn't wait to look in his Easter basket...and Jason's too!
Cool new sunglasses (until they break too!)
Checking out all the new stuff.
Jason getting into his basket.
I tried to get a picture of the two smiling, I sort of had success eventually.
My family came over for brunch (which Jason slept through) and after we ate Dillon had an Easter egg hunt. Jason wasn't feeling well at all on Easter and just was content to sit eat and watch.
Dillon making sure he looks everywhere.
Loading up his basket.
Found one in the couch cushion behind Uncle Jim.
After he found each egg he'd go back to the coffee table and say "oh, I wonder what is in it!" and then open each one. He was so cute!

Too Quiet....

...is not always a good thing. I was in the laundry room today while Jason was playing in the rest of the basement (I have a baby gate up at the entrance to the laundry room). It became a little too quiet so I looked around the corner to check on Jason. I found him fully entertained and very proud of himself!

Birthday Song

Dillon was so excited for Jason's birthday he made up a song about it.
